What is Legal Eagle?
Legal Eagle is a one-day single elimination open to all attorneys admitted to the Florida Bar and practicing for less than 7 years. Participants receive a mock fact pattern via email 3 days prior to the competition and are asked to prepare a ten-minute closing argument for each side of the case. Participants present their closing argument before local judges and practicing attorneys who score the competitors and provide feedback.
Why You Should Participate
One hundred percent of registration proceeds are used to benefit Legal Services who service the needs of the 500,000 people who live below the poverty line and face the daily barriers to economic stability and empowerment.
Legal Eagle provides young associates with a platform to give back to the community, develop oral advocacy skills, network with young professionals, as well as gain invaluable feedback from an esteemed panel of judges.
Additionally, the winner will take home the following:
A huge perpetual traveling trophy;
Bragging rights as the “Best Closer in South Florida;”
A spot in the Legal Eagle Hall of Fame
A $1,000 cash prize; and
Recognition in the Daily Business Review and in Social Media touting winner’s success
